I’m stuck. I posted this last week on the Microsoft SCOM newsgroup, but I’m not getting any responses. On the off chance that the 5 people a day who read this site might know the answer, here’s the question as posted:
stuck.
I’m attempting to capture a new Performance Counter, Plan Cache, Cache
Hit Ratio, Object Plans & SQL Plans. When I lay it out to create it, I
get the attached error. I’m assuming based on the “Unknown alias” and
the fact that I’m in a custom management pack, something is amiss with
the Management Pack. What? Any help at all would be appreciated.

Did you post your issue to the OpsMgr forum or OpsMgr list on myITforum.com? You generally get quicker responses there.
Forum: http://www.myitforum.com/forums/forumid_145/tt.htm
List: http://www.myitforum.com/lists/#Microsoft_Operations_Manager_(MOM)_List
No, I’ve been posting it out on the Microsoft public forums, specifically microsoft.public.opsmgr.sql. I’m going to put one on the Authoring forum to see if I get a response there. If not, I’ll head straight over to myitforum. I’ve never actually heard of that one before.
[…] Tags: answers, SCOM, SQL Server I had posted a problem I was having with SCOM below. I got a good answer to the problem in the Microsoft discussion group. It was a silly little thing. […]
I posted in the Authoring forum and got a very quick and very accurate response. So I’m past this problem now.
it sure would be nice if you posted the answer here or at least a link to the answer you got in the other forum.
There is a link the answer, just up a little bit in the comments here. I did another blog post about it. Look for the ScaryDBA.

You need to get in touch with Microsoft support or with a good local consultant. I couldn’t possibly troubleshoot your problem remotely through the comments section of my blog. Please, get in touch with them right away.
