I just got the good word, I submitted an abstract for a spotlight session at the PASS Summit and it was accepted. Jazzed doesn’t begin to describe it. If you’re interested in hearing what I think about Best Practices for working with Execution Plans, please swing by.
Awesome Grant. Now I have to figure out how I’m going to get to the Summit if one of my abstracts doesn’t get selected.
Is this the UK or US pass Summit, tell it’s the UK one … PLEASE PLEASE
Jack, the spotlights were picked seperately, so the other announcements will be coming out later. I think next week. I’m sending positive energy your way.
Christopher, I wish it was, but it’s not. Sorry. If I fly to the UK, I have to bring the wife and if I bring the wife I have to bring the kids at which point it’s no longer possible for us to fly over there. And I do so love English pubs, and English beer in English pubs.
Oh, and thanks.
Thanks for the positive vibes.
I knew the Pre/Post Cons and Spotlights were done first. But now that the announcements are starting I’m getting antsy.
I’m not really expecting to be selected, but it would definitely be cool and would make getting to the Summit a lot more feasible financially.
I know exactly what you mean. I guess since I’ve presented once I should be totally blase about all this, but I can’t help it, I’m as excited as last year.
You’ll get in. I’m sure of it.
Congrats Grant! Like Jack, I’m on the edge of my seat to hear if my presentation was selected. Hopefully I’ll see you both there!
Wooohoo! Grant, you da man! You’re in the big time!
Best of luck Tim. You’ve got a great shot at it too. Best part of the Summit is seeing everyone in person.
Thanks Barry. It’s not a huge thing I realize, but I’m still enough of a 10 year old to be excited. Actually, I’m mostly a 10 year old, which explains lots of things.
I think that a Spotlight session is a *huge* thing Grant. Not many people get selected for those. No pressure though. 🙂
Eh, no worries. If I can sing the banana song in front of 100+ people, I can talk about execution plans too. Actually, that’s one way to cover the extra 15 minutes. Let’s see, banana song, Tom The Toad, Ghost Chickens in the Sky… I’ve got this covered.
“Ghost Chickens in the Sky…” … ?
Nope, I’m not going to ask. If I can sing “The cats they are a-calling” to wake my son up when he was 8, I can only image what this is. 😀
Nice going.
Thanks Gail. I’ll see you there.
Hopefully, yes.
